Yvonne and Chris have picked up our large patches and they are available for anyone who wants one. We've got large and small patches for anyone who wants to emblazon the SHR logo on a jacket or vest or ballcap. Look for one of the SHR group on Sundays at church to pick up your copy of the patch (for a small fee).
Word on the street is that we've also got bumper stickers being made right now as well!

i am second
Jewel mentioned this site to us a few weeks ago and while I hadn't had a chance to look at it until now, I'm glad I took the time to see it. It'll be linked on the links page. You'll also probably notice that there are boards posted all over Dallas with this simple sentence. Go visit and see what it's all about.
Rider Down
We sadly report the passing of one of our members
January 09, 2009
We are sad to report that Mary has finished her ride and has gone on to her reward.
I wanted to send a note in case any of you did not hear, but on Tuesday evening our dear little sister, Mary, went to be with the Lord. Mary was a believer, so though we grieve now - we have the comfort of a blessed assurance of seeing her again someday.
Any time I hear that a brother or sister in Christ passes, I am reminded of the story of the woman who wished to be buried with a fork in her hand. Long story short, when her pastor asked the woman why she wanted to be buried with a fork in hand, she told him that as she was growing up, after every meal as the dishes were cleared, someone always told her to keep her fork because dessert was coming. She wanted to be buried with a fork to remind us all "the best part is yet to come."
In John 10, Jesus gives this wonderful confidence again and again. “My sheep hear My voice, I know them, they follow Me, I give eternal life to them and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of My hand.” Jesus is clear, His children have been given eternal life and they shall never perish. Those that have gone before us are going home on the promise of God. We have not lost them; they have gone ahead of us. This is the testimony of our Lord Jesus...salvation is forever. Once given, you spiritually never thirst, you never hunger, you never perish - you never die. We can rest assured in the promises of God that our Mary is partaking of His rich blessings. She has a perfect body that will never know disease and a beautiful full head of hair that she will never loose. Her hope was in God’s promise, and there is nothing more secure than God’s word. Her hope is our hope.
When one passes from this earth it does not a matter of how many people applaud their life, but who applauds. When Mary passed through the gates of heaven, I believe God stood and applauded for His little girl.
Stand strong brothers and sisters for ‘the best part is yet to come'.
Back in Black!
our patch on black
December 19, 2008
The Steel Horse Riders are proud to present our new logo...only this time in black. Thanks to all who contributed to the creation of this design.
Due to some color issues, the design that we'd voted in as our patch was disappearing on our black jackets and vests. Thanks to Bob and his wonderfully helpful team of design geniuses, we now have our patch on a black background that we can submit to the patch lady (yes, that's her official title) to have made into our patch to put on jackets and t-shirts.
Once we get all of this done, look for t-shirts that you can buy for the whole family after the service! Grandma's mink would look awesome with a cow skull on the back...
Winner!
our new patch
December 15, 2008
It's official! We gathered for our monthly meeting and voted in the new Narrow Trail Steel Horse Riders patch. Meeting notes will be posted at some time in the near future as well. Positions have been filled and our agenda is taking shape.
New Logo Ideas!
we've got em
December 09, 2008
It's a bumper sticker!
Thanks to Bob and his team of Photoshop wielding artists, we have 3 new additions to our list of possible patch designs. I uploaded the designs to the LOGO folder on our photo page (http://flickr.com/photos/ntccsteelhorseriders/) and then he came back today with updates to them. I've uploaded the new ones from today and noted that they were the changed designs. I'm really digging all of these new designs on top of the ones we already were looking at. But at least this won't limit us to one or two concepts and allow us to think outside the box when deciding on the design that will represent the SHR.
We should be voting on our final design tomorrow night at the meeting, so be sure to be there and cast your vote!

Toys for Tots, this Saturday
It looks as though the bulk of us are going to be doing the Toys for Tots run this Saturday, 12/6. Registration begins at 9 am and the show gets started at 10:30 am. We've agreed to meet beforehand and head up as a group.
I'll send out an email to the group this week, but let's say that we'll meet at the Best Buy in Allen on Stacy Road (SE corner) at 9 am and head up together. If there's concern over the meeting place or the time, let me know (

).
Ride entry is an unwrapped gift, stuffed animal or game, and they also take cash.
Weather looks like it's going to be good for us. It's going to be brisk in the morning, so dress accordingly, but it'll turn out to be a nice day by the time we finish the run.
Remember that this is for a good cause and it's also a great way to make our presence known and represent the church and our ministry, so please try and join us if you're able.
This meeting has come to order!
Our first official meeting
November 26, 2008
The group on the Garland ride.
The Steel Horse Riders had their first official meeting last Wednesday night. The turnout was spectacular!
We'd like to thank Bob and John for joining us at the meeting and giving us their knowledge and expertise on both what is expected and assistance from the viewpoint of other NTCC groups who've begun their ministries and and experience these growing pains. We'd also like to thank Yvonne for pushing us to this first step and leading us through the first meeting.
Look for a minutes of meeting to be posted soon and if you were unable to attend the meeting and would like to, we'll be doing this once a month on the 2nd Wednesday of every month.
New Pics up
November 10, 2008
Thanks to Ann (the newly named Mrs. Parchman) for the LOAD of pics from some of the rides of the past. Check out the photo page and see the over 100 new pictures of our inaugural ride and the ride on June 22. Lot's of good stuff!
Rides and Riding Info
the do's and dont's of riding and more news
November 05, 2008
Let's get rollin!
The Teddy Bear Ride was a success for those who were able to attend from the group. It was noted that there appeared to be around 3000 bikes at the event, all with a teddy bear for the kids. South bound Central from McKinney was shut down for the ride and it was a site to be seen. Pictures of the event should be uploaded soon from the event, so keep an eye on the photo page for additions.
Also, I've updated the documents on Road Rules page. I was unaware that the original Hand Signals & Etiquette file was corrupted, so I've fixed that and split up the information into two documents with better and more detailed information.
Updates just keep coming
check out all the new info
October 28, 2008
We've been hard at work updating the site with new content, new pictures and uncovering new links we didn't realize existed. Most importantly, you'll see the links at the top right corner over the bike that weren't there before. thanks to Bob for letting us know they were there. I'll get more content on the other pages soon, but you can now access this page any time you want. We've also uploaded the first patch possibility out on the Flickr site. Go here and take a look at "patch1". this will be a possibility for our jacket patch and t-shirt emblem.
Please continue to send updates and contents to our email so i can post it on the site.
And finally, see the calendar for upcoming rides.
Jacket Patch discussion ongoing
let's show our colors
October 22, 2008
patches? we don't need no stin...wait, yeah, we need a patch.
We've had a few discussions regarding the creation of a patch that we can attach to jackets. This way, while out on the road together, or separately, we can show our colors and get the word out about the church. Look for us on sundays to see where we are on this topic and what costs will be to have patches made. We may want to consider some t-shirts or hats as well.
New Rides happening soon
keep an eye open for new posts
October 22, 2008
what a motley crew!
With the holidays coming, Dallas and surrounding cities will be hosting a bunch of events. While many may not be affiliated with Narrow Trail, we hope to attend and get our name out there to the masses.
Rev it up!
